Historie

Nysgerrig siden 1998.

1998

Shortly after its establishment, a beautiful building at Wilhelminapark 20 in Utrecht was chosen as headquarters by Dialogic. From this location, the team worked hard on very specific issues in the field of broadband, ICT, new media or education, as well as more generic innovation research and policy advice for governments and businesses.

2003

A few years later, Dialogic had ten employees.

2006

Within eight years, Dialogic outgrew its stately office attire. By the end of 2006, the top two floors of the current building at Hooghiemstraplein were occupied.

2007

Until this year, Dialogic was recognized by its orange corporate identity with 'eyes' on the cover. This year, the new corporate identity was introduced, which forms the recognizable basis of our end products to this day: 'the little flower' and 'the puzzle piece,' along with 'Dialogic blue' made their debut.

2010

Dialogic celebrates its 12.5-year anniversary in September at the Pastoefabriek in Utrecht.

Pim den Hertog, one of the founders and partners of Dialogic, obtains a Ph.D. in service innovation.

2011

Christiaan Holland, one of the four founders, steps down as a partner and becomes associated with Dialogic. As a 'serial entrepreneur,' he has since been guiding entrepreneurs and initiatives in the field of sustainable energy in the Arnhem region.

2012

Reg Brennenraedts becomes the first non-founding partner after starting his career at Dialogic as a junior researcher.

Dialogic introduces the Diadashboard - a (for that time) unique and innovative platform for (interactive) sharing of research results, which we still use and develop to this day.

2013

Dialogic celebrates 15 years, with a grand event in and around Malaga in Spain. A bike tour tests the endurance of all colleagues, followed by a visit to the Alhambra.

2014

After a long tenure, Rob Bilderbeek steps down as a partner. He now spends his regained free time mainly in and around his rowing boat.

2015

In 2015, Dialogic opens the DiaLab - a space for workshops and meetings, which will soon host the ICT Lab Utrecht.

Matthijs Janssen, principal scientist at Dialogic, completes his Ph.D. with a thesis titled "Service Innovation in an Evolutionary Perspective."

2016

In collaboration with ROC Midden Nederland, Dialogic opens the ICT Lab Utrecht in the DiaLab. Several batches of students develop cases and proof of concepts there until the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. Some of the participants even join Dialogic afterward. Furthermore, a start-up in the decentralized identity field emerges from one of these projects.

After six years of service, Dialogic completely redesigns its website in 2016. The homepage emphasizes the issues Dialogic focuses on. Additionally, there is a 'timeline' feature that allows followers to keep up with Dialogic through news and Twitter updates.

2017

Rudi Bekkers, one of the original team members and still involved with Dialogic, is appointed as a full professor at Eindhoven University of Technology.

2018

Dialogic celebrates its 20-year anniversary in the Sicilian sun. Guided by Welmoed and bus driver Pino, the Dialogicians explore the island and its inhabitants.

Sports play a central role in many colleagues' lives and Dialogic's outings. A running team from Dialogic participates in events like the 2018 Singelloop in Utrecht, where they rank as the fastest corporate team in the five-kilometer race. Dialogic also participated in 2017, where they narrowly missed fourth place in the ten-kilometer race.

2020

In March 2020, the coronavirus pandemic leads to work-from-home measures in the Netherlands, affecting Dialogic as well. The traditional year-end celebration takes place twice in 'hubs' at colleagues' homes. Additionally, Dialogic organizes other activities, such as an online cooking workshop with a celebrity chef. Despite these conditions, Dialogic continues to grow and ends the year with 30 employees.

2022

Arthur Vankan and Tommy van der Vorst are two new partners at Dialogic. Both started as juniors at Dialogic in 2012 and are excited to contribute to the further development of the company.

By 2022, the COVID-19 pandemic is mostly over, and Dialogic slowly returns to its office. The first major communal activity is a group wadlooing trip to Schiermonnikoog.

2023

Dialogic celebrates its 25-year anniversary in style. The DiaLab is fully renovated, and a new office wing is opened to accommodate an increasing number of colleagues despite the current hybrid working model.

At the end of 2023, Dialogic hosts a reception for all friends and family of Dialogicians.

A delegation of Dialogic colleagues swim, cycle, and run in the Utrecht Triathlon around the Strijkviertelplas. It's a scorching day, particularly challenging for the runners, but in the corporate competition, we still manage to secure fourth place.

2024

At the beginning of 2024, Dialogic launches a new website, which you are currently viewing. This marks the beginning of a renewal of our visual style, which will also be reflected in our reports and presentations.

2025

As of January 1, 2025, founder Sven Maltha steps back from the daily management of Dialogic. However, he remains closely connected to Dialogic and continues to lead research projects. On January 10, we celebrated his 27-year career at TivoliVredenburg, with a performance by the band MARRS, featuring Sven on keyboards.
