Dialogic carried out the project Twente's got Talent in the context of the ICT innovation program of the province of Overijssel. Twente's got Talent focused on:
- improving the connection between primary education and secondary education, and between secondary education and higher education in the field of STEM subjects
- strengthening mutual contact and mutual enthusiasm for (new developments in) STEM subjects through networking, and expanding opportunities for teachers, schools, and students.
After the province had already funded a previous application focused on the connection between secondary and higher education, TGT aimed to develop STEM modules for the upper grades of primary education, with materials suitable for digital boards. Additionally, the project developed a "transition curriculum" for science and technology, by and for primary and secondary schools.
Twente's got Talent has a rollout strategy to reach more primary schools, ultimately creating a ripple effect. Through an online platform with various functionalities, primary schools can: a) collaborate with other primary schools, b) collaborate with secondary schools and jointly design a (partial) transition curriculum, and c) connect their students with those from secondary schools.
Dialogic's role was to develop instruments, monitor the process, and measure the impact of this project.
The results and products are now available on the University of Twente's website. These include different lesson modules, teaching materials, measurement tools, and various publications.
