Exploration of multi-year strategic collaboration for digitalisation in Europe

For the Top Sector ICT, Dialogic has conducted an exploration into the current state of the seven key technologies in Europe (recent developments, adoption trends, and challenges). The insights and outcomes of this exploration will further strengthen the multi-year strategic cooperation of the Netherlands in and with Europe. In the research, we focus on the following research questions:

• What is the current state of the seven key technologies in Europe? (Recent developments, adoption trends, and challenges?)
• In which relevant networks and partnerships in the EU for the seven key technologies is the Netherlands already involved?
• What funding possibilities exist for digital innovation projects in the EU?

The research shows that the Netherlands participates in over a quarter of the Horizon Europe projects focusing on the seven digital key technologies. Artificial Intelligence and Software Technology & Computing outperform the other key areas. The Netherlands appears to be lagging the most in the field of Digital Twinning & Immersive Technologies. Additionally, Dutch organisations frequently rank in the top 10 in terms of received subsidies and serve as a central point in technology networks.
