I am fascinated by the philosophy of science ('What is true? What is a fact?') and see research as a craft. I constantly strive to innovate in research methods and techniques and can interpret numerical information well and present it in an accessible manner (for a selection of my publications, see my page @ ResearchGate). My expertise mainly lies in science, technology and innovation policy, as well as public order and safety. I have conducted commissioned research throughout my entire career (over 200 at present), in many countries and for both governments and businesses. I have been affiliated with all three technical universities in the Netherlands, a think tank (RAND Corporation), two private companies, and two research consultancies - the latter for the past seventeen years being at Dialogic. I live for and through my family and love poetry (because not everything can be captured in numbers).
