Nine European countries, including the Netherlands, participated in the VISION Era-Net project. The aim of the project was to further analyse and compare recent developments in the governance of the science and innovation system. The study consisted of a combination of desk research, around 30 case studies on the how and why of recent changes in STI governance in the nine participating countries, as well as a survey among key stakeholders in science and innovation policy in the participating countries. In the Netherlands, four cases were further analysed, namely: - Establishment and continuation of the Innovation Platform; - Innovation Programs New Style; - Various investment impulses in the knowledge infrastructure based on natural gas revenues; - Peaks in the Delta as an example of new style regional innovation policy. The survey focused on identifying themes considered important in future science and innovation policy and its management. The study was conducted by Dialogic in collaboration with the Finnish research and consultancy firm GAIA.
