Meet Pim
Since 1990, I have been primarily focused on how our economy and society can benefit maximally from investments in knowledge and innovation. Although originally trained as an economic geographer, I consider myself primarily an innovation scientist. In addition to possessing strong analytical skills, I am familiar with political-administrative relationships and am proficient in communication.
As a senior researcher/advisor and project leader, I am mainly involved in monitoring and evaluating science, entrepreneurship, and innovation policies and governance. Additionally, managing service innovation in all conceivable contexts is a favourite area of interest. Over the past 25 years, I have worked with numerous predominantly (semi-)public organisations, including various ministries (Economic Affairs, Finance, Education, Infrastructure and the Environment, and in Flanders Economy, Science and Innovation), OECD, the European Commission, AWTI, NWO, STW, RVO, and the Dutch Tax Authority. Wherever possible, I endeavour to document my work through publications and presentations. Furthermore, as one of the founding partners of Dialogic, I am involved in the further development of the company.
After completing my studies in Economic Geography at Utrecht University (1990), I spent eight years working at TNO Strategy Technology and Policy before co-founding Dialogic in 1998. From 2008 to 2010, I was seconded to the Faculty of Economics and Business of the University of Amsterdam. There, I contributed to the establishment of the Amsterdam Centre for Service Innovation. I also completed my dissertation, Managing Service Innovation, during that time. In my spare time, I support my three children in competitive sailing.
