Historie

Nysgjerrig siden 1998.

Dialogic ble grunnlagt i 1998 av Sven Maltha, Rob Bilderbeek, Pim den Hertog og Christiaan Holland - kolleger ved TNO STB. Per 2026 består teamet vårt av over 40 kolleger. I løpet av de femogtjue årene Dialogic har eksistert, har vi blitt et velkjent navn i det nederlandske innovasjonsmiljøet. Vi ønsker gjerne å ta deg med på vår reise.

1998

Shortly after its establishment, a beautiful building at Wilhelminapark 20 in Utrecht was chosen as headquarters by Dialogic. From this location, the team worked hard on both very specific issues in the field of broadband, ICT, new media, or education, as well as more generic innovation research and policy advice for governments and businesses.

2003

A few years later, Dialogic had ten employees.

2006

Within eight years, Dialogic outgrew its elegant office attire. By the end of 2006, the top two floors of the current building at Hooghiemstraplein were also occupied.

2007

Until this year, Dialogic was recognizable by its orange corporate identity with 'eyes' on the cover. This year, the new corporate identity was introduced, which until today forms the recognizable basis of our end products: 'the little flower,' 'the puzzle piece,' and 'Dialogic-blue' are introduced.

2010

Dialogic celebrates 12.5 years and marks this occasion in September at the Pastoefabriek in Utrecht.

Pim den Hertog, one of the founders and partners of Dialogic, obtains a doctorate on the subject of service innovation.

2011

Christiaan Holland, one of the four founders, steps down as a partner and from this moment onwards remains associated with Dialogic as an associate. As a 'serial entrepreneur,' he has been supporting entrepreneurs and initiatives in the field of sustainable energy in the Arnhem region since then.

2012

Reg Brennenraedts becomes the first non-founding partner after starting his career at Dialogic as a junior researcher.

Dialogic introduces the Diadashboard - a unique and innovative platform (for that time) for (interactive) sharing of research results, which we continue to use and further develop to this day.

2013

Dialogic celebrates 15 years and marks this occasion in and around Malaga, Spain. A cycling tour tests the endurance of all colleagues, and a visit to the Alhambra is also included.

2014

After a long service, Rob Bilderbeek steps down as a partner. He now spends his regained free time mainly on and around a rowing boat.

2015

In 2015, Dialogic opens the DiaLab – a space for workshops and meetings, where shortly after the ICT Lab Utrecht will be established.

Matthijs Janssen, principal scientist at Dialogic, obtains a doctorate with his dissertation titled “Service Innovation in an Evolutionary Perspective”.

2016

In collaboration with ROC Midden Nederland, Dialogic opens the ICT Lab Utrecht at its DiaLab. Several groups of students will develop cases and proof of concepts there until the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. Some participants will even join Dialogic. Additionally, one of these projects gave rise to a start-up in the field of decentralized identity.

The Dialogic website is completely revamped in 2016 after six years of service. The homepage emphasizes the questions Dialogic deals with. In addition, there is a 'timeline' allowing one to closely follow Dialogic through news and Twitter posts.

2017

Rudi Bekkers, a colleague from the early days and still involved with Dialogic, is promoted to full professor at the Eindhoven University of Technology.

2018

Dialogic celebrates 20 years in the Sicilian sun. Accompanied by guide Welmoed and bus driver Pino, the Dialogicians get to know the island and its inhabitants.

Sports are a common thread for many colleagues and outings at Dialogic. A running team from Dialogic participates, among others, in the 2018 Singelloop of Utrecht and proves to be the fastest business team on the five-kilometer run. Dialogic also participated in 2017 when the team narrowly missed fourth place in the ten-kilometer run.

2020

In March 2020, the coronavirus forced the Netherlands, and therefore Dialogic, to work from home. The traditional year-end celebration took place twice in 'hubs' at colleagues' homes. Furthermore, alternative activities were organized, such as an online cooking workshop with a real TV chef. Despite these conditions, Dialogic continued to grow and had 30 employees by the end of the year.

2022

Arthur Vankan and Tommy van der Vorst are two new partners at Dialogic. They both started in 2012 as juniors at Dialogic and are excited to further develop Dialogic.

In 2022, the COVID-19 pandemic is largely over, and we slowly return to our office. The first major shared activity is a group wadlopen to Schiermonnikoog.

2023

Dialogic celebrates 25 years and goes all out. The DiaLab is first completely renovated. In addition to the DiaLab, a new office wing is opened to accommodate a growing number of colleagues, despite today's hybrid way of working.

At the end of 2023, Dialogic organizes a reception for all friends and family of Dialogicians.

A delegation of Dialogic colleagues swims, cycles, and runs in the Utrecht Triathlon around the Strijkviertelplas. It was a scorching day, particularly challenging for the runners, but despite this, we finished fourth in the company competition.

2024

In early 2024, Dialogic launches a new website, the one you are currently viewing. It is the beginning of a renewal of our visual style, which you will also find in our reports and presentations.

2025

As of January 1, 2025, founder Sven Maltha steps back from the daily management of Dialogic. However, he remains closely connected to Dialogic and continues to carry out research projects. On January 10, we celebrated his 27-year career at TivoliVredenburg, with a performance by the band MARRS, featuring Sven on the keys.
