Flanders has a number of Strategic Research Centers (SOCs). These research centers were established to facilitate the transition from fundamental research to technical-industrial developments. The research centers play an important role in the transformation of the Flemish economy, among other things by establishing spin-offs. An important milestone during this government term is the evaluation of three of these SOCs in 2016. Dialogic evaluated iMinds, Imec, and VIB based on the set objectives and performance agreements and addresses questions such as:
  • How innovative are the research themes?
  • How do the research centers perform?
  • What is the quality of the new strategic plan for 2017-2012?
Dialogic conducted the research on behalf of the Flemish Department of Economy, Employment, and Innovation, in collaboration with Idea Consult.
