Dialogic has been conducting research for almost 15 years and has traditionally excelled at combining qualitative and quantitative research. Traditionally, this involves occasional text reports that are interspersed with a large amount of tables and graphs. The recently published study on Flemish Agricultural Research is a good example of this.
Lately, we have been seeing a shift towards continuous monitoring of developments on a specific topic. In practice, this means that the frequency of data collection and updates increases significantly, and the ratio of text to data shifts. A logical solution is to offer so-called management dashboards. We do this for example in the Science, Technology, and Innovation Indicators (WTI2) project for the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science. More graphs can be found on the demo version of another site.

This shift goes far beyond simply accessing information differently. It also signifies a fundamentally different way of working.
To enable this approach, we are actively establishing a coherent information architecture. We are mostly developing a large number of software modules in-house that together form a flexible system allowing us to (semi-automatically) collect, process, analyze, and visualize data tailored to specific needs. The core of the system (the blue modules) is currently in full use and we are continually developing new plugins for data input and output.
