In 2025, the Dutch House of Representatives will be informed about the outcomes of the evaluation of the Sbv. Read the parliamentary response here. In recent years, there has been increasing attention on sustainability in the agricultural sector. To assist farmers with the costs of innovations or the use of new technologies, the government provides subsidies. Dialogic, in collaboration with CLM, has been asked to evaluate such a subsidy scheme, namely the Subsidiemodules brongerichte verduurzaming stal- en managementmaatregelen (Sbv). This research is carried out at the request of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Food Security and Nature (LVVN), at least until February 2025.  The Sbv aims to reduce emissions from livestock housing, and improve animal welfare and fire safety. This includes reducing nitrogen or methane emissions, or preventing rapid smoke and fire spread in case of a fire. Dialogic and CLM are investigating whether the scheme has achieved these goals between 2020 and 2023, and whether this has been done efficiently. We are also looking at lessons learned for future policy.  Our research consists of the following steps:
  • Analysis of relevant documents about the scheme and related policies.
  • Studying data on applicants and participants of the scheme.
  • Conducting interviews with participants and stakeholders.
  • Sending out a questionnaire to both approved and rejected applicants.
  • If you have taken part in the scheme or submitted an application, you will soon receive a questionnaire from us, or an invitation for a discussion. This gives you the opportunity to share your opinion about the scheme.
Dialogic has previously conducted research on the nitrogen dossier and agriculture, including the evaluation of extern salderen. For more information, please contact Jasper Veldman or Femke van Wijk.
