eceg defDialogic's Marijn Plomp spoke at two scientific conferences in Slovenia last week. In both cases, a peer-reviewed article formed the basis of the presentation.

The first contribution was a paper following Dialogic's evaluation of the program "Nederland Gaat Digitaal" (NGD), a Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SME) ICT stimulation scheme initiated by the former Ministry of Economic Affairs between 2002 and 2007. Marijn, along with former Dialogician Ronald Batenburg and Dialogic partner Pim den Hertog, investigated the extent to which ICT policy leads to an increase in the use of inter-organizational, or cross-organizational, ICT among SMEs. It appears that this is indeed the case, with the 'breadth' (reach of the scheme) potentially being more important than the 'depth' (how far the scheme goes in terms of stimulation). The presentation was part of the 24th edition of the Bled eConference, held annually at this beautiful, nature-surrounded location since the early days of the 'e-domain'.

Subsequently, Marijn presented at the 11th European Conference on E-Government (ECEG), this time hosted by the Faculty of Administration at the University of Ljubljana. The contribution focused on an article co-authored with emeritus professor Jan Grijpink concerning the role of identity fraud in large-scale information provision. Through two cases from the criminal justice chain and the healthcare sector, it was demonstrated that ID fraud is one of the major challenges of our society. The theory of Chain Informatization seems applicable in formulating sustainable information strategies to address this issue.

Both articles were written in the context of Marijn's doctoral research at Utrecht University. For more information on these contributions and/or the doctoral research, please contact Marijn (plomp@dialogic.nl).
