Supervision and enforcement of the Fixed Book Price Act

Dialogic conducted, on behalf of the Dutch Media Authority, a study of its supervision and enforcement in relation to the Fixed Book Price Act (Wvbp). For example, the Dutch Media Authority is responsible for nationwide announcements of the fixed price of a new book, and has the authority to impose an administrative fine in case of a violation of the Wvbp. The effectiveness and impact of the Wvbp are periodically evaluated by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science. The supervision and enforcement of the Wvbp by the Dutch Media Authority are part of this fourth evaluation of the Wvbp. The research report, along with an evaluation of the Wvbp and a self-assessment by the Dutch Media Authority, was presented to the Dutch Parliament in July 2025 by Minister Bruins.
