Dialogic surveyed the impact of digital and information key technologies on the sustainable energy sector for the Top Sector Energy. The results of this research contribute to:
  1. Providing stakeholders within the energy sector with insight into the possibilities and potentially also the threats posed by a digital key technology;
  2. Developing/adapting the programming of knowledge institutions and innovation organizations (including the Top Sector Energy) concerning one or more of these digital key technologies.
In this research, we address the following three research questions:
  1. In what form are digital and information key technologies currently being used and will they be used in the next ten years in the energy sector?
  2. What is the economic and societal impact of the application of digital and information key technologies in the energy sector, based on possibilities and threats?
  3. What possibilities exist to stimulate the application of digital and information key technologies in the energy sector (e.g. through innovation programming, fostering energy professionals, and creating the right conditions)?
Specifically, we focus on the seven digital and information key technologies of the KIA Key Technologies, and their impact on missions A, B, C, and System Integration of the KIA Energy & Circularity. The research is aimed at both the economic and societal impact of these technologies, such as their (potential) contribution to earning capacity and CO2 reduction. This includes not only the impact on the economy and society as a whole, but also the added value for individual stakeholders in the energy sector who wish to engage with digital and information key technologies.

Website digital key technologies

The end product of this research is a website, where applications of key technologies for the sustainable energy transition are presented and searchable. The website inspires professionals in the energy field to utilize key technologies and engage in interactions to drive (new) implementations.
