Our contemporary society is witnessing an increasing level of digitalisation: ICT has become an integral part of our lives. It is present in the supermarket, in the parking garage, in concert halls; you can find it in your pocket or on your wrist. Digitalisation impacts us on personal, social, societal, and economic levels.
This digitalisation is also transforming the labour market. Employers are demanding new knowledge and skills. Existing professions are undergoing a digital transformation and new professions are emerging. Dialogic examined challenges and opportunities for enhancing digital skills in the sectors of healthcare, energy, and security.
The research resulted in eight challenges related to digital skills, both at a strategic and operational level. To address these challenges, eleven solutions have been developed, including incorporating digital skills into HR policies, ensuring diversity in teams, and integrating digital skills into (senior) management.
Dialogic conducted the research in 2016 on behalf of ECP.
