About Dialogic

History

Dialogic was founded in 1998 by Sven Maltha, Rob Bilderbeek, Pim den Hertog, and Christiaan Holland – who knew each other as colleagues at TNO STB. In 2024, our team consists of over 40 colleagues, and we carry out a large number of research projects annually. In the twenty-five years since Dialogic was established, we have become a well-known name in the Dutch innovation landscape. We would be delighted to share our story with you.

1998

Shortly after its establishment, a beautiful building at Wilhelminapark 20 in Utrecht was chosen as the headquarters. From this location, Dialogic worked hard on specific issues related to broadband, ICT, new media, education, as well as more general innovation research and policy advice for governments and businesses.

2003

A few years later, Dialogic had a team of ten employees.

2006

Within eight years, Dialogic outgrew its initial office space. By the end of 2006, the top two floors of the current building at Hooghiemstraplein were also occupied.

2007

Up until this year, Dialogic was recognised by its orange corporate identity with 'eyes' on the cover. This year, a new corporate identity was introduced, which remains the distinctive basis of our end products to this day: 'the flower' and 'the puzzle piece' along with 'Dialogic-blue' were introduced.

2010

Dialogic celebrates its 12.5-year anniversary and marks this milestone in September at the Pastoefabriek in Utrecht.

Pim den Hertog, one of the founders and partners of Dialogic, successfully defends his doctoral thesis on service innovation.

2011

Christiaan Holland, one of the four founders, steps down as partner and becomes associated with Dialogic. As a 'serial entrepreneur', he has since guided entrepreneurs and initiatives in sustainable energy in the Arnhem region.

2012

Reg Brennenraedts becomes the first non-founding partner after starting his career at Dialogic as a junior researcher.

Dialogic introduces the Diadashboard - a unique and innovative platform for (interactively) sharing research results, which is still in use and being further developed today.

2013

Dialogic celebrates its 15th anniversary with a trip to and around Malaga, Spain. A cycling tour tests the endurance of all colleagues, followed by a visit to the Alhambra.

2014

Rob Bilderbeek steps down as partner after a long tenure. He now spends his regained free time primarily on and around rowing boats.
