To truly understand how something works, I prefer to completely take it apart (and try to put it back together myself). This method is also applied in strategic advice within the digitisation and telecom domain, which often involves a strong technical component. In this field, small details can make essential differences. My technical background and knowledge enable me to bridge the gap between policymakers and specialists. The insights and advice I provide to clients are largely based on quantitative data and models. The programming and data analysis languages that I 'speak' and my eye for detail come in handy daily when working on these projects. Themes that I am deeply involved in include mobile networks, cybersecurity, and machine learning. I work on these for various (semi-)public and private organizations, including the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy, Rijksinspectie Digitale Infrastructuur (RDI), Alliander, Enexis, Eurostat, ITU, Chamber of Commerce, Nauta Dutilh, OECD, Sligro, TenneT, Wolters Kluwer, and several other Dutch ministries and provinces. Additionally, I am responsible for Dialogic's ICT infrastructure, software development, and online services. Since 2020, as a partner at Dialogic, I share the responsibility for the strategic direction and management of our team, which now consists of approximately 40 researchers and consultants. Prior to this, I completed my master's degree in Innovation Sciences at the Eindhoven University of Technology and Università L. Bocconi in Milan, with an internship at Philips IP&S. Over the years, I have developed web applications and mobile apps for various clients, including Rabobank and CostPerform. Apart from my work at Dialogic, I contribute to open-source software projects, particularly in the field of machine learning. In my spare time, I enjoy activities such as running, cycling, or hiking, and if weather permits, snowboarding. When the weather is not as favourable, I engage in electronics and home automation, work on (open-source) software, or follow Formula 1 and sumo wrestling. I also like to travel and create video reports afterwards. ## Expertise/Skills - **Data analysis, data engineering, and machine learning:** Extensive knowledge of relational databases and related analysis languages (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, SQLite; 15+ years of experience), GIS (QGIS, PostGIS), Excel. Experience with language models (BERT, LLaMA, etc.) and machine learning frameworks. Co-developer of wonnx, an open-source software library for efficient and fast execution of machine learning models on graphic cards. - **Software development:** 15+ years of practical experience with languages such as Go, Swift, Java, C/C++, PHP, Python, and Rust (see my open-source contributions). Expert-level knowledge of web development (HTML5, JavaScript/TypeScript, CSS, and frameworks like Vue and Nuxt). - **Telecommunications:** Understanding of 3GPP network architectures, radio technology (LTE/5G NR), spectrum policy, security considerations, cryptography. Actively engaged for over 10 years in national telecom and spectrum policy and its implementation. - **Strategic advice:** In-depth knowledge in intellectual property rights (IPR)/appropriation strategy, innovation strategy, technology explorations. - **Project leadership and other research skills:** Over 12 years of experience in interviewing, reporting, and presenting in Dutch and English, involvement in various international projects and presentations, more than a decade of experience leading larger research projects.
