DiaDashboard

Since 2013 we have had our own platform for data analysis and dashboarding: Diadashboard. This platform has been custom-made for our researchers and research projects, providing advanced capabilities and a high level of flexibility.

Puzzling with data has never been so easy.

With Diadashboard, our researchers can create advanced interactive dashboards to present research findings and analyses. In 2012, we decided to develop this system because the available alternatives at the time did not meet our needs. Although there are many more options available today, we still find that our in-house developed system offers a high level of flexibility, allowing us to provide our clients with more than just a 'standard solution'.

A unique feature of Diadashboard is its close connection to research. Developers and researchers work together in the same environment to create presentations of research results. The 'puzzle pieces' are characteristic – a unique way for researchers to process large amounts of information.

Diadashboard provides the following functionalities:

  • Retrieve data from databases (MySQL/MariaDB, PostgreSQL, CSV, and XML files) and APIs.
  • An advanced analysis function based on 'puzzle pieces' that enables researchers to process large amounts of data without coding knowledge. Data from different sources can be easily mixed and linked (the system automatically ensures that analyses are executed as efficiently as possible).
  • Interactivity based on 'interrupted' analyses (end-users can be prompted to make choices at each step of a data analysis and can interactively modify them).
  • Data visualization using 'plug-ins'. In addition to graphs, maps and network visualizations can also be created.
  • Support for accounts, rights management, dashboard personalization.
  • Survey module, which can be directly linked to dashboards for real-time visualization. It offers advanced functions for personalization, panel management, and routing, among others.
  • Various export functions (PDF, images, CSV) and options for integration into external systems (embeds via an API).
  • Suitable for desktop and mobile viewing, in all modern browsers, with extensive options for custom layouts and brand styles.

We use Diadashboard in our own research projects. Additionally, we offer access to Diadashboard as a service for clients who wish to work with it themselves (either based on a dashboard built by us or not).

To truly understand how something works, I prefer to completely take it apart.
