Automated analysis for the Chamber of Commerce

Every month, the Chamber of Commerce (KvK) receives thousands of questions from (future) entrepreneurs on themes such as financing, innovation, and internationalization. The KvK is keen on meeting entrepreneurs' current information needs and has therefore asked Dialogic to develop a methodology for automatically analysing these questions.

The data mainly consists of a textual description of the entrepreneurs' questions. To analyse these descriptions, Dialogic collaborates with TM7, which has developed advanced language technology for text analysis.

By using language technology, it is possible to automatically categorise the tens of thousands of questions from entrepreneurs into themes. Even when there is a surge in questions about a new theme in the future, it will be automatically identified and added. Additionally, the KvK also keeps track of who is asking the question; considering the type of business or sector. This (structured) data is then used to interpret the results of the text analysis. This includes analyses such as: Is there a visible trend? Are there differences in needs between types of businesses or sectors?

The results are then made available online through a KvK dashboard. This was achieved using the Dialogic Platform. It enabled the interactive and dynamic presentation of the results. Dozens of KvK employees can log in to the KvK Dashboard. Apart from predefined visualisations, they can also conduct their own analyses on themes that are specifically of interest to them.
