photo arthurOn 5th December 2011, I started at Dialogic as a junior researcher and advisor. Prior to this, I spent five years studying at Eindhoven University of Technology. At this university, I completed a Bachelor's degree in 'Technical Innovation Sciences' and a Master's degree in 'Innovation Sciences'. Both programmes focus on societal issues with a special emphasis on the role of technology. In the Bachelor's programme, I mainly focused on energy technology, including topics such as solar energy, wind energy, biomass, and hydrogen fuel cells. Sustainable energy sources and carriers were not the only areas of interest. In a research project on CO2 emission rights, I studied the trading of these rights in India. Additionally, I completed the Honours Programme at TU/e during my Bachelor's studies, a programme offering more in-depth research experience.

In the Master's programme, I delved into other domains as well. The first year of the Master's programme was dedicated to exploring the relationship between ICT and society, focusing on current issues such as the 'digital divide' and the impact of ICT on replacing human roles in specific contexts. In the second year, I studied at Università Luigi Bocconi in Milan for a semester, where I concentrated on innovation in the public sector, innovation management, and cluster development. Given the international student body at this university, I gained valuable insights from this multicultural environment on a personal and social level. For my Master's thesis, I focused on the creative industry, specifically the Dutch design sector. Inspired by the idea of clusters and their potential location-related advantages, I investigated the motivations of Dutch design companies to choose specific locations and examined the factors influencing the performance of these companies, with a special focus on the impact of location.

Outside of academia, I was involved in various student assistant positions, mostly related to outreach activities of TU/e aimed at secondary school students. Other activities included mentoring high school students on their research projects and guiding students in the 'Technical Innovation Sciences' programme through a major half-year project.

In addition, I have been involved in professional gaming/e-sports for many years, achieving the titles of two-time world champion and two-time European champion. This path allowed me to engage with the media world through television, magazines, and the internet. It also provided opportunities for me to contribute strategically and organizationally to the gaming sector. Throughout my life, my passion for games has always been accompanied by a love for sports, particularly basketball and fitness.

At Dialogic, I am currently engaged in diverse activities spanning two main topics. On one hand, I am researching media literacy in the Netherlands, a topic of a predominantly socio-psychological and pedagogical nature. On the other hand, I am focusing on the electricity infrastructure in the Netherlands, delving into technology-dominated content. Personally, I appreciate diversity, and Dialogic provides me with the opportunity to professionally explore my broad interests.
