For Topsector ICT, Dialogic has conducted an exploration into the current state of affairs of the seven key technologies in Europe (recent developments, adoption trends, and challenges). The insights and outcomes of this exploration will further strengthen the multi-year strategic cooperation of the Netherlands in and with Europe. In the research, we focus on the following research questions:

• What is the current state of affairs of the seven key technologies in Europe? (Recent developments, adoption trends, and challenges?)
• Which relevant networks and collaborations in the EU for the seven key technologies is the Netherlands already involved in?
• What financing options are available for digital innovation projects in the EU?

The research shows that the Netherlands participates in over a quarter of the Horizon Europe projects focusing on the seven digital key technologies. Artificial Intelligence and Software technology & computing perform better than the other key areas. The Netherlands seems to be most behind in the field of Digital Twinning & Immersive technologies. Additionally, Dutch organizations often rank in the top 10 in terms of received subsidies and serve as a central point in technology networks.
