Dialogic and TU/e, commissioned by NLkabel and Cable Europe, investigated how the demand for internet speeds will evolve between now and 2020. It appears that in the future, a high download speed will remain more relevant to consumers than a high upload speed. The researchers predict that the average consumer demand for internet speeds in 2020 will reach 165 Mbps download and 20 Mbps upload.
