Meet Pieter
Since November 2025, I have been working at Dialogic as a junior researcher and advisor. Coming from an econometrics background, I help in systematically analysing complex issues and translating them into concrete insights for policy and practice.
Before joining Dialogic, I completed both the Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Econometrics at VU Amsterdam. During my studies, I learned to analytically dissect and solve problems, but also discovered that quantitatively optimising a model does not always align with reality. This led me to pursue a minor in behavioural economics and to increasingly focus on the world beyond the models. Additionally, alongside my studies, I worked part-time in my final year as a policy officer at De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB). There, I experienced firsthand the value of clear and well-founded public policy, which further fuelled my interest in contributing to it.
In my free time, you can find me on the football field, enjoying a good book, and occasionally trying out new recipes in the kitchen.
