5th November 2015 – Dialogic DiaLAB
Unfortunately, there are no more spots available for this session.
In the policy domain, the need for using big data is increasing. Big data offers unprecedented possibilities throughout society. In practice, embedding innovative big data sources and methods in a government context proves to be challenging.
This masterclass, intended for managers and policy officers from governments and (semi-)public organisations, explores the (potential) impact of big data on policy and policy research, the conditions under which big data can be utilised, and how policymakers and researchers can handle it. We draw on the experience Dialogic has gained as a research and consultancy firm in this field over the past years. Participants' experiences and questions regarding big data will also be used as input during this masterclass.
After this masterclass:
- Have a better understanding of the impact of big data on policy and policy research;
- Identify critical success factors for big data applications;
- Map out the roles that public organisations can play in the realm of big data;
- Get acquainted with real-life examples;
- Network and exchange experiences with fellow participants.
Established in 1998, Dialogic specialises in tackling complex issues related to infrastructure, information, education, and innovation. Dialogic supports (semi-)public organisations with future-oriented strategic (policy) research and research-related consultancy. Over the years, Dialogic has accumulated significant experience in the fields of public administration, ICT, and innovation.
