On 19th March, Dialogic organised a masterclass for DAIR, an association of institutional researchers in higher education. The goal of this masterclass was to identify opportunities to improve the connection between secondary and higher education.

The masterclass was based on the research project 'Throughput Monitor' previously conducted by Dialogic in collaboration with the University of Twente, Radboud University Nijmegen, Delft University of Technology, and Utrecht University. This project enriched student origin data with information such as final exam grades, program, switching behavior, dropouts, and earned credits. Through various examples, we demonstrated the potential of this data for different departments within higher education institutions, such as marketing, communication, policy, student affairs, and admissions managers. In the other breakout session, we focused on ways to engage with secondary schools to improve specific aspects of the connection between secondary and higher education.
