cyAt the beginning of the summer, I started as a Research Assistant (RA) at Dialogic. On the first day, we had to work hard immediately. I found this very challenging. I mentioned at the start that I also would like to do my Bachelor's thesis here, and there was room for that. From August onwards, I started my thesis.

Coming from my studies in Engineering and Policy Analysis at Delft University of Technology, with a focus on ICT, I mainly deal with multi-actor policy issues with a touch of technology. Examples include: How can the government protect critical infrastructures? Which steering instrument should be used for more efficient data centers? I try to understand and solve these issues using conceptual tools and quantitative model studies. This involves logical frameworks, UML, system dynamics, business intelligence, etc., and of course, SPSS.

I want to conduct research that aligns with my interests but also adds value to Dialogic. I have found alignment with the Internet as a Data Source (IaD) project. The IaD project focuses on Europe's performance in the field of ICT, vital for the Digital Agenda's evaluation. The aim is to find ways to cheaper and faster assess Europe's digital state while identifying new relevant indicators that better suit the Digital Agenda's framework. Indicators can lose their distinctiveness over time.

In my thesis research, I am focusing on one of the IaD methods, where internet usage is tracked by a smart application among panel members. The key question here is to what extent this method is cheaper and faster, and what new indicators can be identified for Europe's Digital Agenda concerning hard (internal and external validity) and soft requirements (privacy and social acceptance).
